Pros

Communication between guests and software is well implemented. But that's it! Unfortunately, the negative experiences outweigh the positive ones.

Cons

1. We were offered German support when the contract was concluded. Fact = there is no german support 2. a "3 day on-site training" was agreed with us in the contract. Fact = this was never carried out. Instead there was an "Online University" and a telephone conversation. You have to set up the whole system yourself. Many points, why certain settings have to be chosen during implementation, are not addressed or not explained. The Mews University is definitely not enough to get to know the extensive features. So things are set up incorrectly because the knowledge is simply missing. 3. you can automatically charge credit cards via MEWS Merchant from the PMS. Good idea - but damn expensive. The costs are not completely disclosed when the contract is concluded, but are instead referred to the payment service provider. With us, the costs are twice as expensive. Unfortunately, due to the extreme costs, we won't be using this great feature any more. 4. because we didn't get a proper introduction to the system we had to ask a lot at the online support. The employee was very nice - but also very annoyed. A pity! 5. checking out guests is much more complicated than with our old PMS. You need so many clicks to check out the guests. Takes longer than before! 6. to create company invoices with several rooms is much too complicated. It is also very complicated to enter company bookings into the system. E.g. for a company booking you first have to create the company as a "customer" and then again a "company profile" yourself. Very cumbersome! 7. partly there is only one English help for many topics! 8. reports for housekeeping are very confusing. 9. it is hard to believe that our rooms can no longer be displayed in the timeline in the order 1 - 100. They are now sorted by categories and within these categories unfortunately also not sorted by numbers but by floors... 10. bills look catastrophic The hotel logo is only displayed very small. The address of the guest is shown on the right side and the address of the hotel on the left side. Should one have to send an invoice. the standard window envelopes are no longer possible. invoice itself very confusing! 11. you can send an invoice directly from MEWS. Unfortunately only to the email address of the guest. If a company or another colleague pays, the invoice must be sent manually as PDF... There are many more points, which are unfortunately not optimal. It simply annoys us that many things were promised but not kept. We are seriously considering to switch back to the old PMS - if the circumstances do not improve! Good approaches but still a lot of air to the top!

Pros

It is a strong product but impletatation service is not exciting. Only one person that will tell you to watch the videos, but wont answer any question.

Cons

Very different what they promise from what you get. In the demo you see a very strong solution which it is indeed. But the problem comes when you must build it all by yourself. I dont mean you have to put the details, rates, no, you must do every little detail and every little thing, if you make a mistake your implementation person wont check. why would she? If the error comes up later, and you get a lot of wrong reservations and wrong rates, they wont blink an eye is your fault. You want to solve it? Then she will tell you again to watch the videos. It took me 10 days, receiving wrong reservations. They have a lot of implementations but not support on that ,because "this is not their job" so unless you are yourself an IT with a lot of free time and patience to setup the program it is not for you

Pros

MEWS offers you the real freedom of a cloud based system, which means that you are able to log in wherever you are and on whatever device you want to. It works on all devices the same! In addition to that MEWS REALLY has open API´s, so you can plug in and play with every tool out there quite easy! Customer support is just great, you can reach them 24/7 via chat and they reply within minutes! It also offers you a feature where you can vote improvements or new features, and once enough other MEWS Hotels voted for your idea, they really implement it. You can also have an all-in-one solution with mews, as they offer the PMS, with direct channel connections (e.g. booking.com), basic mailing program, housekeeping app, self check-in kiosk and an app for the guest. Lastly, they are able to offer you bed and rooms at the same time, most of the PMS´s can just to one of them. All in all its just great and the improvements are making it even greater :)

Cons

Reports are visible for everybody (for now), there is a user management in place obviously, but still, everybody can see the manager report for an example. You can change or delete most of the mails within the pms, but you can't turn off the booking confirmation mail, so if you have a CRM in place as well, it's possible that the guest gets two. Finally, you need to be able to cope with HTML writing.

Only manage the "lodging" part of the property. You need to integrate additional specialised third party providers for your restaurant point of sale system and inventory management for example
